Citizen Science and the London Prosperity Board
Citizen science is at the forefront of the London Prosperity Board’s research and action.
Citizen scientists are trained by UCL’s Citizen Science Academy, based at the IGP, where they work as members of the research team.
Meet the citizen scientists who sit on the London Prosperity Board.
Twinkle Jayakumar
Twinkle is IGP’s Lead Citizen Scientist in London. She has worked on several Citizen Science Academy programmes including the the Obstacles to Prosperity research in wave 1 of the Prosperity in east London 2021-2031 Longitudinal Study. She has been co-curator two citizen science exhibitions and is part of the Academy team working on the Newham Community Research Network.

Mohammed
Mohammed is a Tower Hamlets resident that was trained as a Citizen Social Scientist on the Act-early project focusing on health and well-being for care leavers. He has talked and written about his experiences in multiple media (1, 2, 3) and is currently working as a Business Support Officer at the Tower Hamlets Council.
Terry Regan
Terry is a lifelong resident of Custom House in Newham. He worked as a Citizen Social Scientist on the Obstacles to Prosperity research in wave 1 of the Prosperity in east London 2021-2031 Longitudinal Study. He is a community activist and runs Talk 2 Terry, a confidential, peer-based mental health support network.
