Citizen Science Now! Research by the community

June 2024 UCL East, Marshgate

Citizen Science Now! Research by the Community brought together the work of local residents who had been trained as citizen scientists through the UCL Citizen Science Academy. Held at UCL East Marshgate in June 2024, the exhibition showcased research rooted in lived experience, offering a powerful, community-led perspective on life across London.

Through stories, photographs, maps, and artwork, participants presented findings from their own neighbourhoods, exploring questions around prosperity, community, and what it means to live well in a rapidly changing city. The exhibition highlighted how citizen-led research can surface insights often overlooked by traditional approaches, grounding big questions in everyday realities.

Visitors were invited to engage with the work, reflect on the themes, and contribute their own perspectives. By centering local voices and experiences, the showcase demonstrated the value of participatory research in shaping more inclusive and responsive futures.
