The Prosperity Index for london
One of the London Prosperity Board’s first initiatives is the launch of the Prosperity Index for London, a new way of thinking about and measuring prosperity based on the priorities of local communities.
The Prosperity Index is based on extensive research exploring what prosperity means to people living and working in east London. The research examined what prosperity means in local terms and the specific conditions, challenges and opportunities that support or prevent people in east London from thriving.
The research identified five domains and 15 headline indicators of sustainable prosperity in east London. The London Prosperity Board will use the Prosperity Index to track progress towards, or indeed away from, local visions of prosperity. The first wave of data was collected in 2017 and published in 2019.
